Privacy Policy
This policy explains what AnswerScope does with data across three surfaces: the free web tools, the public API, and the AnswerScope connector for ChatGPT and Claude.
Effective 12 September 2026. Last updated 12 September 2026.
Who we are
AnswerScope is operated by Purcell Analytics ("we", "us"). You can reach us about privacy at [email protected].
The URL you submit
Every AnswerScope tool takes a page URL and analyzes it. When you run a check, our server fetches that URL directly, reads the public HTTP response the way a search crawler would, and returns a report. We only fetch public web addresses. Requests to private, internal, or loopback addresses are refused and never contacted.
- We do not require an account, and we do not ask you to sign in to use the tools.
- We cache the analysis of a submitted URL for a short period (about five minutes) so a repeated check is faster. The cache is keyed by a hash of the URL and expires on its own.
- We do not use the tools to build a profile of you, and we do not sell the URLs you submit.
The ChatGPT and Claude connector
AnswerScope is also available as a connector inside ChatGPT and Claude. It runs the same checks as the website. When you ask the assistant to analyze a URL, the assistant sends that URL to our connector, our server fetches and analyzes it exactly as above, and the result is returned to your conversation. The connector is read-only: it inspects the target site and never changes it. It does not require sign-in, and the same short cache and address restrictions apply. Your conversation itself stays with the AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic) and is governed by their privacy policies, not ours.
The AI Visibility Checker waitlist
If you join the waitlist for the paid AI Visibility Checker, we collect the contact details you enter (such as your email address and any name or company you provide), together with the page you submitted from and your IP address. We store them in our own systems and use them only to contact you about the product and the waitlist, never for unrelated marketing. To handle these emails we use an email delivery provider (Mailgun), which processes the message on our behalf. We keep your waitlist details until you ask us to delete them or until we retire the waitlist.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
- Our own cookies. The tools themselves set no first-party tracking cookies. You can run any check, and use the connector, without cookies from us.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our servers and our content delivery network (Cloudflare) keep standard request logs, which include IP addresses, for a limited period for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage. Google Analytics sets its own first-party cookies (for example
_ga, which lasts about two years) to tell sessions apart. See Google's Privacy Policy. - Advertising. The free tools are supported by advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads. You can control ad personalization at Google My Ad Center.
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers that run AnswerScope (such as hosting, content delivery, analytics, advertising, and, for the waitlist, our email or CRM provider), and where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices
You can use every tool and the connector without giving us any personal information. If you joined the waitlist, you can ask us to access or delete your contact details by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA.
Children
AnswerScope is a tool for website owners and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date above.
